Want to learn more about what makes the people at Booost Education tick? From perfect weekends to favourite trips, we’ve been chatting with everyone to give you the inside scoop on the people working behind the scenes.

Today, we’re speaking with Claire Hardy, and learning all about how they wound up as Education Relationship Executive here at Booost Education.

What drew you to Booost?

I worked in the DSA sector for a long time before joining Booost Education & had successfully recommended Booost & Luna many times. I genuinely loved (& still do) the products, so when I was offered the job, it was an easy decision. The rest is history as they say.

When did you know you wanted to work in your field?

I remember the moment - I was being assessed for DSA during my PGCE. In the middle of the assessment, the assessor asked me what I wanted to do for work when I graduated. I said very matter of fact “I want your job”. He looked at me and paused. Fast forward a few years & I had it as I became a DSA Needs Assessor. I hate injustice (of any sort) - having experienced injustice in different forms first hand. This gave me passion, made me much better equipped for my field & gave me the drive to fight for what students needed - it came naturally to me!

Where are you located?

In a small corner of the world in the South West of the UK - in a little community at the edge of a cliff by the sea. It's pretty wild, it’s a little primitive and bohemian in places, it’s romantic; it’s all of these things actually - and more. It can be stormy, cold in the winter though (no central heating or double glazing) but pretty special and I wouldn’t want to trade it and live anywhere else - right now anyway.

What does your perfect weekend look like?

A perfect weekend includes time in the fresh air, away from a computer screen, maybe a sea swim with a neighbour or a coastal walk, maybe a halloumi burger at the local beach cafe. It could include a homemade indian curry cooked for a friend & eaten in my garden followed by a fire. Music always features highly in my cottage - so simple things really. And sometimes there's an audiobook on my hammock. And I do like to shake things up sometimes with a carefree mingle and a dance at a silent disco; great for de-stressing & wellbeing - try it!

Best trip you've been on and why?

Easy answer; Morocco. Morocco is my favourite country for a hundred different reasons. Last time I visited, I went with a yoga group & tagged on a few days solo travelling to Marrakesh & then through Morocco & up to Spain. Felt safer in Morocco than in some corners of the UK! Lovely culture & people. Everyone should experience Marrakesh at least once in their lives. A special place like no other. Go if you can.
