Team Spotlight - Natalie Bull, Content Writer
Despite trying her very best to avoid it, it’s time for Natalie Bull’s turn in the Spotlight. Our resident content writer, creative and nature nerd, tells us why she joined the team at Booost Education.
What drew you to Booost?
In my previous role, I supported students throughout their DSA journey. Through conversations with these students (and often, their parents), I saw how small adjustments could make a big difference. Tools like Booost were helping them take control of their day and manage not only workload but wellbeing too. So, when the opportunity came up to join their marketing team, I jumped at the chance. I love being part of a team dedicated to helping people reach their full potential.
When did you know you wanted to work in your field?
When I was little, I was always writing stories and poems and documented almost everything. Even my pets and toys all had backstories. I also drew almost everything, leading to a degree in illustration and a couple of published children's books. However, after realising that I wasn't Quentin Blake and couldn't maintain a reliable income sketching all day, this creativity was channelled back into writing instead, supporting many areas of business with content and comms.
Unwittingly, connecting with others has always been at the heart of everything I do. Whether that was the hamster, the customers I served waiting tables as a teenager, or the clients and students I supported later in my career, they all have a need to be understood and a story to tell.
Where are you located?
I live in a market town in green and leafy Surrey and work from home, which allows me to enjoy it all the more—nature spotting on the school run and spending max amount of time outdoors, which is really important to me. I will happily bore anyone who cares to listen about the benefits of nature and taking care of it and can often be found with my kids on wild escapades, studying slow worms, identifying insects and tracking down nightjars in our pyjamas.
What does your perfect weekend look like?
I’m an early bird, so a walk through the woods before the world wakes up followed by coffee and a big breakfast. Then I’d explore the flora and fauna of the local heathlands with the kids or go fossil hunting with them at the beach. I’d end the day with a BBQ with the extended family.
Best trip you’ve been on and why?
Our honeymoon in Sicily was pretty special, but I’d have to say a family camping trip in Cornwall where there definitely wasn’t as much luxury but plenty of adventure. A good lesson in learning to embrace chaos!
